  • We congratulate to our member Prof. Friedler Ferenc ( University of Pannonia) who was awarded the Széchenyi Prize.
  • Péter Kas a prominent researcher of the Hungarian operations research passed away. His memorial service will be at 23 September, 2009 at the English cemetery of Famagusta.
  • Harnos Zsolt the prominent researcher of the Hungarian mathematics and operations research, the former president of our society the member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences passed away. His memorial service will be at 14.15 on 28 April, 2009 at the Farkasréti cemetery.
  • We congratulate to our member Prof. Csirik János ( University of Szeged) who was awarded the Széchenyi Prize.
  • Klafszky Emil the prominent member of our society, the winner of the Egerváry Award passed away. His memorial service will be at 11 on 7 March, 2009 at the cemetery of Kóny.
  • The workshop for the mempry of Tamás Rapcsák is organized on 26 September program .
  • Stahl János the prominent member of our society passed away. His memorial service will be at 10 on 15 June, 2008 at the Kozma street cemetery.
  • We congratulate to our member Prof. Terlaky Tamás (Pannon University Veszprém) who was awarded MITACS (Mathematics of Information Technology and Complex Systems) Mentorship Award of Excellence.
  • We congratulate to our member Prof. Csirik János ( University of Szeged) who was awarded the INFORMS Computing Society 2007 ICS Prize for Research Excellence in Interface Between Operations Research and Computer Science award for the paper J. Csirik, D.S. Johnson, C. Kenyon, J.B. Orlin, P.W. Shor, and R.R. Weber: On the Sum-of-Squares Algorithm for Bin Packing. Journal of the Association of Computing Machinery 53(2006) 1-65.
  • Tamás Rapcsák the prominent researcher of the Hungarian operations research, the former president of our society passed away. His memorial service will be at 11 on 12 April 2008 12-én at the Church Hazatérés (1054 Budapest, Szabadság tér 2.)
  • We congratulate to our member Prof. Friedler Ferenc (Pannon University Veszprém) who was awarded the Szilárd Leo Professor scholarschip for his work in research and education.
  • Béla Martos the prominent researcher of the Hungarian mathematics and operations research, the winner of the Egerváry Award, the honorary president of our society passed away. His memorial service will be at 10.30 on 11 January, 2008 at the Farkasréti cemetery.
  • We congratulate to our member Tóth Boglárka (Technical Unversity Budapest) who obtained "UPS-SOLA Dissertation Award" of INFORMS for her thesis "Interval methods for competitive location problems".
